Mark your calendars.  The next Annual SAFMLS Meeting in Reno, Nevada from 23 March to 26 March 2009 at the Town & Country Resort (please do not use this link to to make hotel reservations - please see the reservations section below).  The theme this year is “Have Lab -- Will Travel.”  The Town & Country Resort is a great location for our world-class annual meeting.  Transportation from the International Airport is an easy 15 minute shuttle or taxi ride (both cost around $25 one way).  The resort has plenty of parking ($14 a night for hotel guests or $3 for the first hour and $2 per hour thereafter with a maximum of $16 per day for those not staying in the hotel).  Centrally located, the Resort is just a short ride to many city attactions including Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Old Town San Diego, the Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village, and many others.  Check back in late Fall for the latest information and registration.

What's the weather like in San Diego in March?  Nice.  It is always nice in San Diego.  The average daytime temperature is 66o with nighttime temperatures dipping to an average of 54o.  Average rainfall for March is 2.26 inches.

• Vendors will be offered the opportunity to present workshops and short topics at this year's meeting, and many have already expressed interest.  What this means to you is that our deadline for submission may not be pushed back as it has been in previous years.  Please get your materials ready now!
• Abstracts for workshops and short topics are no longer being accepted.  The deadline was 31 Dec 2009.  

As always, vendors are welcome to attend the meeting workshops and short topics.
